A Livingston High School teacher has been arrested for possession of child pornography, according to Det. Marty Drake of the Livingston Police Department.
LPD was notified on May 28 by officials at Livingston Independent School District that Brian Edward Spivey, 61, of LIvingston had conducted inappropriate online searches on a school computer.
In the ensuing investigation, officers learned Spivey had logged into online chat rooms and sent several messages containing inappropriate content.
Investigators then seized the teacher’s personal computer from his home. Those devices underwent a forensic examination by the Montgomery County Human Trafficking / ICAC Division.
That search revealed child pornography on Spivey’s home computer.
He was arrested at his home June 1 without incident.
Spivey is being held at the Polk County Jail on a charge of possession or promotion of child pornography, a third degree felony. Bond was set at $250,000.
