Nude woman arrested after 95 mph chase in Tyler County

The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at about 7:52 a.m. reporting a nude woman on the side of the road near the intersection of FM 92 North and County Road 3715, according to a written statement from TCSO.

TCSO deputies and EMS responded to the area and a female passerby and a log truck driver stopped to see if they could assist the woman who was later identified as Laci Cole, 28,  of Orange.

As the two motorists tried to help, Cole reportedly jumped into the 911 caller’s car and drove away with the woman’s two grandchildren in the car.

First responders received word about two minutes later that the children had been dropped off at a convenience store in Dam-B, according to the TCSO press release.

At 7:40 a.m., deputies spotted the car traveling west on U.S. Highway 190 at 95 mph.

Woodville Police joined deputies in the chase through the streets of Woodville and stopping the car at Wheat Street. Cole was detained and taken to Tyler County Hospital for evaluation. Sheriff Bryan Weatherford said charges are pending.

The two children were reunited safely with the grandmother.
