SHEPHERD — A multi-agency manhunt came to an end in the Cherry Creek area of Shepherd at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when alert residents spotted two men in the tree line that resembled two escapees from the Liberty County Jail. Det. Gary Sharpen of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said that resident called 911 and state and county law enforcement flooded the area. The men were located near Kathy St. in Shepherd. Clay Harvey was apprehended by a San Jacinto County deputy, and a Liberty County K-9 officer caught Clarence Hunt. Trinity County Most WantedJospeh Huckaby Joseph Huckaby is wanted for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1, 1 to 4 grams, a second degree felony. Over the past few months the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting under over narcotics purchases from several known narcotics dealers, according to Sheriff Woody Wallace. Huckaby’s warrant is a direct result of one of these investigations.
